Sheet Metal Journeyman

A-1 Restaurant Supply is in search of a Sheet Metal Journeyman to Install Exhaust Hood/Fans in Commercial Kitchens. This is a Full-time Position offering consistent work and a competitive starting Wage. 


  • 2+ years' experience with Sheet Metal

  • Licensed Sheet Metal or enrolled in/graduated from an Apprenticeship Program 

  • Valid Driver’s License 


  • Ability to Weld, Solder, Bolt, Rivet, Screw, Clip, Caulk & Bond component parts to assemble products. 

  • Experience using Hand tools, Power tools, Shears, Plasma Cutters, Grinders, Polishing Tools, Drills, Metal Punch, Metal Notcher, MIG/TIG, & Stick welders.

  • Ability to safely work at heights.

  • Perform physical activities on a regular basis.

  • Analyze information & evaluate problems.

  • Looks for ways to improve & promote quality; demonstrates accuracy & thoroughness.

  • Clearly communicate with supervisors, & co-workers.

  • Must be knowledgeable in workplace safety standards.

  • Knowledge with hanging commercial kitchen hoods/ (or a strong desire to be taught). 

  • Experience with fabricating duct & installation.

  • A clear understanding of how to read a tape measure.

  • The ability to take on different tasks at a moments' notice.

  • Take the initiative and use time wisely. 


  • Hanging exhaust & condensation hoods & install curbs &* fans.

  • Hanging/securing of shelving, racking, & other wall or ceiling products (i.e. pot racks, chemical racks, fry cutters, etc)

  • Assembly & installation of large deck-style ovens & roll-in refrigeration units’.

  • Ensuring installations are properly secured in place.

  • Field polishing & welding stainless steel.

  • Reading work orders.

  • Walk-in cooler/freezer assembly.

  • Loading tools & equipment & properly securing them on a truck.

  • Safely operate company vehicles, mechanical devices or equipment.

  • Install exterior metal products according to specifications & building codes.

  • Measure & mark guidelines to be used for installations.

  • Setting commercial kitchen equipment in place for connection to be made by contractor

  • Unload trucks & safely moving products to limit damage.

  • Adhere to all company safety standards & protocols.

  • Maintain a professional appearance & conduct at all times.

  • Willing to work overtime as well as travel overnights as needed.
